Quotes from Ottawa Senators players on Chris Phillips and is induction into the Wood Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame.

“He came in as more of an offensive player and what he’s turned out to be is a real solid defensive player. He’s our leader defensively and he’s taken over bringing along the younger guys.”

  Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson

“I like playing with Philly; he’s a good defensive player. He has shown me how to get better and how to play in different situations. He’s a good leader.”

- Senators defenceman Anton Volchenkov

“He’s a huge part of our team and he’s a real contributor to the city of Ottawa. He’s just as good of a guy off the ice as he is on the ice. He cares a lot about his teammates and helps them as much as possible. I don’t think there’s a bad thing you can say about him.”

- Senators forward Mike Fisher

“He’s been a real leader, a real character guy on our team. I’ve been good buddies with him since he came here when I was in my second year. I stood up as one of his groomsmen in his wedding and I’m proud to be one of his teammates for some years now.”

-  Senators alternate captain Wade Redden

“You know he will always be there. He’s the type of guy I would call Steady Eddy. He might get overlooked at times, but he’s one of the key cogs on this team.”

  Senators defenceman Tom Preissing

“He’s an honest, hard-working and capable defenceman. I think he’s that type of person off the ice, too, a good character guy.”

  Senators forward Dean McAmmond
